Rich volcanic soils create ideal conditions for the growth of high quality grapes which we celebrate in this label featuring a blacksmith - in tribute to Vulcan, the Roman god of volcanoes, a supremely skilled artisan whose metal-working forge was a volcano.

pocketwatch wines pay tribute to Bob Oatley's great great grandfather James Oatley (1770-1839). One of Australia's early convict settlers, James was a master watch and clockmaker who was soon pardoned by Governer Macquarie, appointed Keeper of the Sydney Town Hall Clock and commissioned to install the still functioning turret clock in the pediment of the Hyde Park Barracks. As part of his remuneration he received a number of land grants from Governor Brisbane, including a 300-acre lot that is now the southern Sydney suburb of Oatley.
